Talkington Bates celebrates five care sector contracts in seven months

Talkington Bates has expanded its portfolio of care sector contracts with five new contracts in the past seven months.

Its regional operation Talkington Bates Midlands has won two Extra Care developments in Bristol - Ash Lea Court and Blaise Weston Court, part of the Hanover Group - where it provides a pay-as-you-go service in line with prices set by the local authority.

Talkington Bates Midlands has also begun work at Hurst Meadow, another Hanover Extra Care site. The three contracts are all one-year and are together worth in excess of £270,000.

The most recent contract wins include a three-year deal for Talkington Bates to provide catering facilities at Marlborough House, St Leonards on Sea and Lime Tree House, Peckham, part of housing association the Hyde Group. Both contracts are pay-as-you-go and will supply dining needs to both residents and external visitors.

Fiona Hopkinson, managing director of Talkington Bates Midlands, said: "We've won the business because we look at each site and its needs - tailor-making our service to suit each establishment.

"We've been working closely with the residents making sure we understand what they want and we've put into place some innovative initiatives like growing vegetables on-site, which cuts costs and we believe is unique to us."
