Spaghetti House acquires two Paramount Restaurant sites in London

Italian restaurant group Spaghetti House has acquired two London sites from Paramount Restaurants following the group's collapse into administration.

Spaghetti House, which operates 10 restaurants across London, has taken over the Bertorelli Restaurant on Argyle Street, near Oxford Circus, and Brasserie Gerard on Kensington High Street.

Both restaurants become part of the Spaghetti House family with immediate effect, although they will continue to trade for a short time under their current brand names. Both restaurants will be rebranded as Spaghetti House sites within four months.

Commenting on the acquisitions, Spaghetti House group operations director Peppino Esposito said: "This is a very exciting time for Spaghetti House. Together with our refurbishment plans for 2012, these new acquisitions will increase our presence and profile in key landmark locations, and will be offering that true, authentic Italian cooking which sets us apart."

Still family owned after 56 years of trading in London, the original Spaghetti House opened on Goodge Street in 1955. It is set to undergo a refurbishment along with a number of sites in the group's portfolio.
