Renowned fish restaurant Wheeler's of St James's in London's Mayfair has shut.
Former head chef Matthew Brown was unavailable for comment, but a former supplier to the business said problems had arisen after a dispute with the freeholder.
Brown bought the lease of the site and the rights to the Wheeler's brand, from restaurateur Marco Pierre White in July last year.
He operated as an independent restaurateur, but it is understood problems arose after the freeholder questioned White's right to sub-let the property.
White was unavailable for comment.
