Harrods opens private dining room for 16

London department store Harrods has launched a private dining room designed for board meetings and intimate events.

The Tasting Room is located within the newly launched Wine Shop on the lower ground floor of the famous Knightsbridge shop and caters for private dining events for up to 16 guests.

Run by the Harrods Events Team, it offers tasting events with menus created by in-house chefs, including the classic British tasting menu which features dishes such as fillet of Scottish beef, roast shallots, truffle mash and baby vegetables; grilled baby squid over mixed leaves with a tomato relish; and passion fruit Eton mess.

Wines from the department will be available at retail prices, with a flat corkage fee of £15 per bottle, allowing guests to sample fine wines at a fraction of the cost in most restaurants. Harrods sommeliers will also be on hand to match wine to each course.

Special wine tasting masterclasses are also available via the dedicated Harrods Events Team, each focusing on a particular grape or region.
