The striking Old Crown pub in Highgate Hill, North London, has changed hands after 24 years under the same leaseholder.

The new owner is local resident Patricia Grison, who was a restaurateur until she became a mother 15 years ago.

The 4,000 sq ft pub, which holds a 1am licence for Thursday and Saturday, offers one of the few remaining free-of-tie leases with Enterprise Inns.

Located between Archway and Highgate Village, the Old Crown has a large, open-plan ground floor bar that is licensed for up to 180 people and a first-floor function room licensed for 150 customers.

Outside, it offers seating for another 100 customers in the rear and two side beer terraces, along with parking for up to 16 vehicles.

Grison, who reopens the doors on 27 March, aims to broaden the offer and appeal of the pub to families and local residents. It will adopt a Mediterranean café style during the day, switching to a Continental-pub-style in the evenings.

Leisure property agent Davis Coffer Lyons sold the leasehold off an asking price of £145,000.
