The acclaimed Fishermans Return pub in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, has been sold for the first time in 34 years.
The pub – which is listed in The Good Pub Guide 2009, AA Pub Guide 2009 and CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2009 – is a 300-year-old brick-and-flint property in the heart of the seaside village of Winterton-on-Sea.
Along with three double letting bedrooms, the premises provides a 50-seat public bar, a 30-seat lounge bar, a 16-seat breakfast room, and a function room (known locally as The Tinho) that can seat 60 guests or cater for up to 100.
There is further seating outside in the beer garden and the 60-seat front patio.
New owner Darrin Winter has owned two freehouses before, including the Fountain hotel in Okehampton, Devon.
The Ipswich office of Christie + Co sold the freehold off a guide price of £895,000 on behalf of Kate and John Findlay, who are retiring after 34 years running the pub.
