Hilton to play host to England stars at National Football Centre

John Terry and Wayne Rooney will be able to relax in style when the England football team meets at the new National Football Centre, after Hilton Worldwide agreed to develop two hotels at the site.

Situated at St George's Park, the Football Association's 330-acre site dedicated to football education in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, the development will see a 142-bedroon Hilton & Resorts hotel sit alongside a 86-bedroom Hampton by Hilton in the same building. They are both due to open next year.

The Hilton at St George's Park is expected to become a focus for press conferences and dinners for England's national team. It features two restaurants, a bar lounge, 1,400sq ft of banqueting space, a spa, health club and an exhibition of football memorabilia.

As the company's economy brand, the Hampton by Hilton at St George's Park will complement the larger hotel.

The two hotels mark Hilton Worldwide's first dual-brand development in the UK.

"As well as being located at the new home of grassroots football in England, the hotels, each of which will maintain their own distinct personalities, are in close proximity to some of the country's major cities and tourist attractions, including Alton Towers and the Peak District," said Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice-president development, Europe and Africa, Hilton Worldwide.

Hilton Worldwide currently operates more than 90 hotels in the UK and has a further 16 properties scheduled to open between now and the end of 2013, including the Hilton Wembley adjacent to Wembley Stadium.
