Clear the air

Wednesday 12 May 2004 12:54

According to Ozone Systems, the air smells fresh after thunderstorms because the lightning produces ozone, nature's way of helping to reduce pollutants in the air. The company is now supplying "advanced oxidation" products in the UK which utilise a similar technology to remove, it is claimed, some 90% of odours, bacteria, viruses, yeasts, moulds and spores in the air, on water or on the surface of food. A range of air-purification system (APS) units is available, from mini to commercially sized, for use in toilets, kitchens, smoking areas, canteens, offices and storage rooms. Other applications include probe cells for building ventilation systems, and food container and ice machine sanitisers.

Price:
from £749 for a mini APS unit (for rooms up to 1,000sq ft)
