The heat is on for top chefs

Twelve chefs will be honoured at the Craft Guild of Chefs Awards at the Savoy Hotel on 20 July. The shortlist has already been drawn up, with three finalists for each award. Among the accolades are Newcomer of the Year, Banqueting Chef of the Year and Pastry Chef of the Year.

Now running for the 11th year, the awards are designed to acknowledge standards of excellence in the industry and bring some of the country's finest chefs together.

Last year saw the introduction of two new awards - Development Chef of the Year and Pub Restaurant Chef of the Year. There is also a special award to honour someone who has made a significant contribution to the industry, which was won last year by Anton Edelmann.
