Mujibur Rahman has joined the Sticklebackpink restaurant in Chelsea, London, as head chef, introducing his brand of north Indian cooking to the menu. He joins from Malik's restaurant in Cookham, Berkshire, where he was managing director.
The new manager of the Savoy hotel's American Bar has been named as Salim Khoury. Khoury was head barman under previous manager Peter Dorelli and has taken over with immediate effect. In 2002 he was elected Barman of the Year, London and South England, by a jury of his industry peers.
Paul Harnedy has been promoted to general manager of the 238-bedroom City Inn hotel and City Café restaurant-bar in Brindleyplace, Birmingham. He was previously operations manager at the site. One of his first tasks is to oversee the redevelopment of the City Café, which will be relaunched in September.
Online restaurant reservations company Top Table has selected Katie Crabtree as marketing manager. She joins from Hotrecruit.co.uk, where she was marketing manager.
Property company Christie & Co has appointed Alistair Greenhalgh associate director, to be based at its Manchester office. He was previously hotels negotiator with the company and will continue to oversee the sale and acquisition of hotels and guesthouses.
Cendant Europe, franchisor of the Days Inn, Days Hotel and Howard Johnson brands, has made two appointments to its sales and franchise team. Nathalie Nagen is welcomed in as room sales co-ordinator and was a receptionist with Swiss company Hotel Apartments Retail Estate. The new position of sales co-ordinator goes to Selina Krausz, who was personal assistant to the chairman at charity Kids Company.
Newly opened Southampton restaurant Dockgate 4 has announced that chef Pierre Chevillard, former head chef of Hampshire country-house hotel Chewton Glen, has joined the business on a five-week consultancy basis. He will work alongside head chef Chris Rose to help develop the restaurant's menu. After this, Chevillard has announced he will be taking a break abroad to consider career options.
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has appointed Karen Luard to the position of director of public relations, Europe and the Middle East. She will report to Julia Record, the group's Hong Kong-based director of corporate public relations, and was previously senior account director at Big:pr, a division of London communications agency Big Group.

Adrian Pagdin has left his job as opening general manager at London Inn Hotels' first Express by Holiday Inn hotel in Stratford, east London, to become director of his own consulting business, ajpconsulting, which specialises in the project management of organisational development.
Events caterer Morton's Fork, based in Chichester, West Sussex, has a new operations manager in its contract catering division in the shape of Stuart Auger. He was previously deputy general manager of the Menzies Stourport Manor hotel, Worcester.

The Carneros Inn, a private resort community which opens this autumn in California's Napa Valley, has appointed Michael Hoffman managing director. Hoffman was resident manager of the Peninsula hotel in Hong Kong. Born in Switzerland, he holds degrees in hotel administration and business from the Lausanne hotel school.
