Glasgow businessman Baljit Singh snapped up the Prestwick Old Course hotel in Ayrshire, South-West Scotland, within a fortnight of it coming to the market.
The edge-of-town hotel overlooks the 18th hole of the the world-famous Prestwick Golf Club, home of the first Open Championship in 1860.
It is also close to the sea front and the station.
The hotel has 12 bedrooms to sleep 30 guests, of which nine are en-suite. Four are located in cottages to the rear of the main hotel.
Other amenities include a lounge bar, lounge and 50-seat dining room and a private suite for the owners that provides a double bedroom en-suite bathroom, lounge and dressing area.
