What is National School Meals Week?
NSMW is the biggest national healthy eating awareness week about school meals in Britain. It takes place from 9 to 13 November 2009 with the support of the School Food Trust. It encourages everyone to "Get Involved" in promoting healthy school dinners in Primary and Secondary Schools.
Why take part?
There are a number of great reasons why local authorities, school caterers, foodservice contractors and schools should join together to take part in National School Meals Week 2009. These are just some of them:

What’s different about NSMW this year?
This annual event run by LACA will use the new tools of digital marketing to communicate with its key audiences. There will be online competitions, a vote to find Britain’s most popular school lunch, a way for primary school pupils to say thank you to their catering staff and the chance for secondary students to make an ad that promotes healthy eating to their friends.

What happens during National School Meals Week?
Every day is different but each one uses the "Get" theme. All the activities fit into a whole school approach about food and school meals and can increase meal numbers. There will be a "How to Run the Week" produced for the conference and it will also be available for download.
