John Burton Race is to join French gastropub My Dining Room in Fulham as a guest chef for 2011.
Burton Race, who left the Michelin-starred New Angel restaurant in Devon in May, has already designed a number of dishes for the new winter menu.
Olivier Lavigne du Cadet, owner of My Dining Room, said that the arrival and support of Burton Race at the French gastropub is a match made in heaven.
"John is certainly the most French of the English chefs and understands the honest French food concept of My Dining Room perfectly. He will bring a lot of knowledge and support to our new head chef Tom Cenci," he added.
"After so many years away, I am sure that Londoners will be very glad to see the return of John."
