Birmingham-based Seng Loy, who has gained experience working in hotels in London, is the new owner of the Windsor hotel in the historic seaside resort of Hastings.
The Windsor is believed to have been a guesthouse since its construction in 1855.
It overlooks the gardens of Warrior Square and the seafront and is just three doors down from Bumptious Mansions, the former holiday residence of Victorian prime minister Benjamin Disraeli.
The accommodation – which includes 10 letting bedrooms and a one-bedroom owners’ apartment – is arranged across four floors and the basement.
The guesthouse also offers a residents’ lounge, a 20-seat dining room and an enclosed courtyard to the rear.
The Maidstone office of Christie + Co sold the freehold off a guide price of £480,000 on behalf of Hilde Swendgaard.
