Jamie Oliver is worried about Germany's love of dumplings while Pizza Express is no doubt concerned that it’s got protestors camped out on its doorstep (again).

While the executives at Henry J Beans owner Food and Drink Group are just plain worried and news that the UK’s tourism deficit now stands at £20b could cause a collective bout of hand wringing.

Still, better gay than grumpy. Gay-friendly hotel brand Attitude has added four properties to its burgeoning empire.

Hotel group Rezidor has its own “colourful” budget brand planned while Peel Hotels is poised to make a killing in the property market.

Compass Group said goodbye to the directors of its sports brand FMC as rival Elior picked up a catering deal in Glasgow.

Scotland’s masters are looking to get caterers involved in the National Food Debate and ex Compass boss Mike Bailey has got involved with a trio of US food service companies.

We’d like you to get involved with our Silver Catey award, created to mark the 25th anniversary of the Cateys.

And don’t forget we’re now looking for our Hotelier of the Year 2008.
