Lilwen McAllister from Pontfaen, Pembrokeshire, has been crowned AA Landlady of the Year 2006.
Lilwen, who runs the Erw-Lon Farm House and has been an AA finalist three times, picked up her accord at an awards lunch held at Tylney Hall, Hampshire, on 17 May.
She originally became a landlady as a way of supplementing her farmer husband Bernard’s income 29 years ago.
The undercover AA judge that stayed at the farmhouse said: “The building is very impressive but more significant is the wonderful personality of the hostess who dominates this working farmhouse with her contagious humour and warmth.”
AA inspectors nominated 100 landladies and landlords from more than 4,000 bed and breakfasts for the title.
Runners up included Beth Cruickshank from Arden House, Linlithgow, West Lothian and Kate Mylrea from Manor Farm Oast, Icklesham, East Sussex.
