Strontian hotel

The two-star Strontian hotel in Strontian, Argyll, has been sold for more than £360,000 through the Glasgow office of Colliers Robert Barry.

The country-style hotel overlooking Loch Sunart dates back to the 18th century when the village’s lead mines supplied ammunition for the Napoleonic wars.

The new owners of the hotel (which is popular with tourists and locals alike) are Huseyin and Sam Araz from Hanworth, Middlesex.

They plan to introduce good home-cooked food using local produce, a great wine list, and real ales.

The property has six letting bedrooms, a residents’ lounge, a 16-seat dining room and bar, a 60-seat function room, and interconnected lounge and public bars

It incorporates two-bedroom owners’ accommodation on the first floor but also has outline planning permission for a family house next to the hotel.
