Rhubarb Food Design buys event caterer Eventuate

Rhubarb Food Design has announced the acquisition of event caterer Eventuate for an undisclosed sum.

Rhubarb, which operates at the Royal Albert Hall and the Saatchi Gallery, bought 100% of the share capital and Eventuate will now operate within its Food Design group.

Eventuate has an annual turnover around £2m and employs eight full-time and two part-time members of staff, in addition to 60-100 freelance staff a week according to business needs.

It will continue to manage a contemporary hospitality enclosure at the Henley Regatta called the River Lounge as well as provide catering at the Paris and Farnborough airshows and at CESNA in Geneva.

PB Jacobse, Rhubarb managing director, said: "We are delighted to acquire Eventuate as its reputation for exquisite service, food quality and creativity synchronise perfectly with Rhubarb's company ethos.

"Eventuate will strengthen Rhubarb's diverse catering offer, which includes events, venues and restaurants with a new division based in Henley."

Eventuate founder Simon Cromack, recently appointed commercial and operations director at Rhubarb, added: "It was an easy decision to join forces with Rhubarb as we share the same company philosophies and highest standards of creativity and attention to service and food.

"Eventuate has now been fully integrated within the Rhubarb family and it is a pleasure to be an integral part of this prestigious company."
