Three-Michelin-starred US chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten has agreed to settle a $1.75m (£980,000) lawsuit over unpaid tips at his New York restaurants.
The dispute marks the latest in a series of lawsuits at high profile restaurants in the city including Japanese chain Nobu and Michelin-starred chef Daniel Boulud.
Vongerichten, who owns restaurants in London, Paris and Shanghai, agreed to the payout after eight former waiters sued on behalf of all employees working at his New York restaurants Jean-Georges, Spice Market, Perry Street, JoJo and 66.
The waiters claimed managers at the restaurants didn't share tips with them and did not pay them for all hours worked.
Last year, Nobu was sued by former staff over allegations that tips were not shared, while Boulud agreed to settle a discrimination lawsuit after workers accused his two-Michelin-starred restaurant Daniel of promoting white workers ahead of non-whites.
