Red Carnation Hotels and Victory Services Club scooped double wins at Caterer and Hotelkeeper’s third Best Places to Work in Hospitality Awards, sponsored by Blue Arrow Catering, yesterday.
The awards celebrate outstanding employment practice in the hospitality sector; and allow us to recognise the employers doing most to attract, train, retain and motivate teams and ensure they are well-equipped to offer world-class standards of customer service.
The hotel group topped the hotel chains with 11 or more sites and the employee engagement awards, while the private members club for serving and retired members of the armed forces won best individual unit for its site in Marble Arch, London as well as the innovation in retention & talent management award.
It was the third year running for fast food operator McDonald's to receive an award, this year for restaurant and bar chains with 11 or more sites.
Caterer group editor Mark Lewis said: “A highly skilled, highly motivated workforce is the keystone of a profitable and truly customer-focused business. With so many other industry sectors competing with us for the best talent in the country, building employer reputation has never been more critical. All of our winners have proved that they are employers of choice. All offer invaluable lessons in how to build great teams. And all provide benchmarks against which other employers can compare their own employment policies and practices, and workplace cultures.
