Vivek Singh to launch new restaurant in Soho

Indian chef Vivek Singh, owner of London's Cinnamon Club in Westminster, is to open a new restaurant and bar in the West End.

The chef-restaurateur, who also owns Cinnamon Kitchen and Anise in the City, has taken over the site of the Red Bar on Kingly Street, off Carnaby Street in Soho, and plans to reopen it next spring.

Spread over two floors, the 2,500sq ft site will include a bar and restaurant but further details have not yet been finalised. Singh told Caterer and Hotelkeeper it would be a similar idea to Cinnamon Kitchen.

"Every since the launch of Cinnamon Kitchen we have wanted to open another site in Soho, which is such a great and buzzy area. So when this site came up, we were immediately interested," he said.

Property agent Shell Sandzer acted on behalf of the Red Bar, while Singh was represented by Christie & Co.
