Heathcotes Restaurants

Friday 18 November 2005 14:46
Founded by Paul Heathcote in 1990, the Heathcotes Group now consists of Heathcotes Restaurants and Heathcotes Outside. Heathcotes Restaurants has 11 restaurants throughout the North of England, including The Longridge Restaurant, Winckley Square Chop House, Simply Heathcotes restaurants and The Olive Press Pizzerias. Heathcotes Outside hold prestigious contracts at Anfield football stadium and Chester racecourse amongst others, as well as events catering.

Recently short listed as a finalist In The Employer of the Year category at the National Business Awards, Heathcotes take a creative approach to recruiting, training and developing staff.

Heathcotes recruitment strategy values enthusiasm, passion for the job and hunger to grow above experience and technical knowledge. Once recruited, employees benefit from a one month basic training course, resulting in the Heathcotes Certificate of Achievement.

Ongoing training and development is provided through initiatives such as SHINE personal development programme, which teaches life skills including interpreting body language and dealing with difficult situations. The Heathcotes Chefs Circle is designed to inspire young chefs with visits to producers of fine food and visits to inspirational restaurants, a unique approach to training which has the potential to nurture a life long passion for food. The Heathcotes Wine Academy is run bi-annually, and provides a deep understanding of wines through tutored tastings, food and wine matching workshops, and a visit to a working winery and vineyard in Bordeaux.

Heathcotes nurtures a culture where employees are given the license to thrill their customers. Personality, flair and individuality are celebrated and rewarded, everyone has the chance to shine.

With further restaurants planned for 2006, and an ever growing portfolio of outside catering and venue contracts, Heathcotes offers an incredibly diverse range of career opportunities. Michelin starred restaurants, bustling pizzerias, football stadia and racecourses; there really is something for everyone, with training and development programmes designed to challenge and stimulate.
