The Kingly Club to open second venue

Kingly Club, London

Private members’ club The Kingly Club in London’s Soho is to expand, with the opening of a second venue in May.

Founded by entrepreneur Dezzi McCausland, the new Kingly Club will be housed in a three-storey, glass-fronted building on St Martin’s Lane. It will include a Japanese restaurant and lounge bar as well as a patisserie and a VIP area with outdoor seating.

The club’s Kyashii restaurant will comprise three dining rooms as well as a chef’s table and will serve a menu of contemporary Japanese food including sushi, sashimi and dishes from the robata grill. Former Cocoon head chef Andrew Lassetter will head up the kitchen and will also offer a range of à la carte options such as Wagyu beef with sake and wild mushrooms; and lobster with foie gras and truffle.

The front of house will be overseen by former L’etranger restaurant manager Guillaume Glipa, who will also be in charge of the wine offering as sommelier.

McCausland told Caterer he is very much looking forward to the Kingly Club.

“I’ve been working on this for the past 18 months or so and now that we’re about two-thirds of the way, I’m really getting excited,” he said.

“I want to make this the most exciting venue London has ever seen.”
