VisitBritain is to launch a new marketing campaign aimed at promoting the British countryside as a holiday destination.
The Rural Escapes campaign, which will be rolled out in June, will target families, couples and individuals who will be encouraged to escape to the British countryside.
The campaign will run for a year and encompass the publication of a colour brochure backed by updated information on the VisitBritain website.
A spokesman for VisitBritain said that while the brochure aims to inspire people to enjoy a sunset over the sea or a beachside barbecue, it will lead them to the website for details on accommodation and restaurants.
“The Rural Escapes push is a combination of our Taste of England and Outdoor England campaigns and aims to inspire people to escape from their hectic city-based lives and enjoy the British countryside,” he said.
