Restaurateurs Jacob Kennedy and Victor Hugo have unveiled details of their forthcoming Italian restaurant Bocca di Lupo, which is set to open in Soho in September.

Located on Archer Street, it will be a regional Italian restaurant set across two floors including a drinks area, eating bar, 49-seat main restaurant and a 25-cover private dining room.

It will be open for lunch and dinner, serving both pre and post theatre menus alongside an a la carte offering, with the average spend at around £25 at lunch and £40 at dinner.

Dishes are likely to include fritto romano comprising crispy fried artichoke and courgette flowers stuffed with mozzarella; next to ravioli of braised oxtail and roast carrots with chives; and tagliata of grilled rib-eye with parmesan, rocket and rosemary.

The kitchen will be headed up by Kennedy, with Hugo looking after the front of house and business side of the operation.

Kennedy, who was previously head chef at Konstam as well as chef de cuisine at Moro, told Caterersearch he was “thrilled” about the opening.

“We found the site a few years ago and have been battling with legal issue for a while so we’re so pleased it’s all finally happening now,” he said.

The opening of Bocca di Lupo comes hot on the heels of other Italian eateris in the capital including Apsleys at the Lanesborough hotel, Claudio Pulze’s Osteria dell'Angolo and Angela Hartnett’s forthcoming Murano.

“There is a trend towards Italian dining at the moment but we’re not cottoning on to that,” Kennedy said. “Trends come and go but we’re planning for Bocca di Lupo to be around for a long time.”
