Hospitality Action Ball raises £100,000

Charity Hospitality Action](http://www.hospitalityaction.org.uk/) has raised £100,000 thanks to its Hospitality Action Ball, which took place last week.

Almost 500 people from across the industry, including Jason Atherton and Pierre Koffmann, attended the event at the Lancaster London on Friday 15 October to show their support for those who have worked, or are working in the hospitality industry and are facing hard times.

Penny Moore, chief executive of Hospitality Action, said: "I'd like to say a huge thank you to the generosity of those that attended and made the Ball such a special evening. It's this kind of generosity that allows us to continue to raise awareness of key issues and helps us to support those in their time of need."

During the evening, Hospitality Action presented four awards to recognise the contribution of those that had delivered exceptional support to the charity.

Bob Cotton, former chief executive of the British Hospitality Association, won the Ambassador Award for his outstanding personal commitment to the charity.

The President's Award was given to Unilever Foodsolutions for its continued support.

The Ark Foundation Corporate Social Responsibility Award went to Hyatt International UK for demonstrating a proactive approach to the dangers of alcohol and substance abuse.

And the HA Hero's Award was presented to the 3663 buying team for the dedicated promotion of the charity's annual A Question of Support event, which raised £67,000 earlier this year.

A charity auction on the night raised £17,000 with bidders competing over nine lots, which included a private masterclass for six with star chef Marco Pierre White, courtesy of Unilever Foodsolutions, and a private box at the Emirates Stadium courtesy of Delaware North Companies.

To continue the celebration, Hospitality Action has partnered with vintage Champagne specialist French Bubbles. For every bottle of Champagne sold throughout October, Hospitality Action will receive £1. Supporters will also receive a special 10% discount when they order using the code ‘Hospitality Action'.
