Compass extends Philips contract
Electronics company Philips has extended its global contract with Compass for another 10 years. The initial contract was awarded in 1998, the first global agreement signed in the foodservice market. Compass now serves more than 88,000 Philips employees worldwide. Turnover was not disclosed, but is understood to be in the region of £25m a year.

Selecta wins Eurotunnel deal
Compass's vending division, Selecta, has won a new five-year contract to provide round-the-clock public vending services to Eurotunnel in Folkestone and Calais. The contract will turn over more than £250,000 a year. Selecta will also provide vending to Eurotunnel's 1,300 Folkestone-based staff and 1,400 contract staff.

Double extension for Eurest
Eurest, Compass's business and industry arm, has retained its contract with office supplies company Lyreco to provide catering for up to 450 staff in Telford, Shropshire. The new two-year deal will turn over £77,000 a year. Eurest has also won a five-year extension to its contract with Bristow Helicopters in Dyce, Grampian, turning over £300,000 a year and catering for 450 staff and up to 500 passengers a day travelling on its offshore services.

Independent schools hat trick for Scolarest
Scolarest, Compass Group's education catering subsidiary, has won new contracts worth more than £3.2m to provide catering and hospitality services at three independent schools. At Old Swinford Hospital School at Stourbridge, in the West Midlands, Scolarest has won a three-year deal turning over some £600,000 a year and catering for up to 538 pupils and staff. At St Ursula's High School in Westbury on Trym, Bristol, the company will provide lunch and morning break services for 300 students and 80 staff. Turnover will be £88,000 a year and the contract runs for five years. And at Milton Abbey School in Blandford, Dorset, Scolarest will provide a full, seven-day catering service for 350 staff at the boarding school for the next three years. Turnover is about £320,000 a year.
