The Café India restaurant in Glasgow, the popular curry house that counts Elton John and Sir Sean Connery as customers, has been completely destroyed in a fire.
Five staff members were in the restaurant when the blaze broke out on Sunday afternoon, but as it was closed at the time, it is believed that no one was injured in the accident.
Seven fire engines went to the scene to bring the fire under control, as hundreds of Christmas shoppers gathered to watch the huge flames, according to Herald newspaper.
Police had to close the road as the roof and parts of the building's facade collapsed.
Abdul Satta, the owner of Café India, admitted he "felt sick" when he received the call telling him that his business was ablaze.
