Lonsdale House hotel

The three-star Lonsdale House hotel in the Cotswolds spa town of Cheltenham has been sold.

The business occupied a Grade II-listed Regency building from the early 19th century that is just a few minute’s walk from the Promenade and the town centre.

The semi-detached provided nine bedrooms to sleep 16 or more guests, a residents’ lounge, and an 18-seat breakfast room overlooking the rear walled garden. A lower-floor flat with a double bedroom was reserved for the owners.

Trading as a B&B, Lonsdale House achieved a £41,612 profit on a net turnover of £82,157 in the year to 31 March 2007.

The Cheltenham office of Hamptons International and the Cirencester office of Colliers Robert Barry worked together to sell the freehold off a guide price of £650,000. The private buyers plan to convert the property into a family home.
