New products(20 May 1999 00:00)Singing the blues COBALT, a selection of deep-blue glassware made in the USA by Libbey, has been introduced to the UK market by John Artis. Aimed at what the company describes as "the upmarket drinks service", the range features a short 10oz Metropolitan Rocks tumbler and a tall 16oz Metropolitan Cooler. There are also three goblets: 16oz Premiere Iced Tea; 111/2oz Premiere Goblet; and 6oz Premiere Flute. All the glasses have strengthened rims and the goblets have strengthened foot rim edges. If either chips, the distributor promises to replace them for free. TWO single-serve portions of Irish mussels are the latest products from Fairway Foodservice. Moules Mariniäre contains mussels with onions, butter, white wine, celery and parsley, while Moules Provenáale comprises mussels with tomatoes, butter, white wine, garlic and herbs. Both are vacuum-packed and processed with their own juices, available in 450g portions - enough for one main course or two starters. The seven models, ranging from 630mm to 820mm in height, have improved top and bottom wash, with independently functioning rinse arms. They are double-skinned to minimise heat loss and noise and have built-in water softeners as well as sloping wash-tank walls with a shallow wash reservoir to reduce water consumption.
