Fuller's opens new training centre

Brewer and pub operator Fuller, Smith & Turner has opened a new training centre, featuring a full working cellar and bar plus classroom and conference facilities. 

Based on a traditional pub theme, the Fuller’s Centre of Excellence will host courses for licensees and staff from its own pubs and those from free trade customers and other pub groups. 

Fuller’s expects to train more than 1,000 people at the centre over the next year in BII-accredited courses including cask and keg beer management, health and safety, product knowledge and presentation.

John Roberts, managing director of Fuller’s, said: “Discerning beer drinkers will often hunt out pubs with a reputation for serving a good pint.

“Good cellar craft is a critical skill for any bar person and I am delighted that the new centre will allow us to train even more people in the art of serving a good pint.” 

The opening of the centre means that the Brewery’s Hock Cellar, the previous home of the training courses, will now be freed up to accommodate more guests on Fuller’s Brewery Tours.
