Majority of Choice operators think Olympics will bring benefits across the UK
Just over half of the owners, operators and general managers of Choice Hotels in the UK believe that all hotels across the country will benefit from the increased inbound tourism around the Olympics, according to a new survey.
In a poll conducted among the 30 UK-based franchised Choice Hotels - made up of the Comfort, Quality and Clarion brands - 51% believed that all properties would experience a boost in business. However, 29% thought only London hotels would benefit, while 18% believed that the games wouldn't bring any benefits at all to hotels outside the M25.
The opening of the Comfort Inn Hyde Park last year brought the number of Choice-branded hotels in London up to 18. Other Choice-branded properties well-positioned for easy access to Olympic venues include Quality Hotel Coventry (football) and Quality Hotel Reading (rowing).
