Home House appoints new MD to head up expansion

Andrew Richardson has been promoted to managing director of Home House as the London private members club’s owner Fairford Holdings sets its sights on a roll out of the brand.

Richardson has been general manager of the club since June 2008, after working as managing director across a portfolio of high profile restaurants in Hong Kong. Prior to that, he was executive chef at the Royal Berkshire Hotel in Ascot. 

Richardson was instrumental in the launch of the £5m extension of Home House into 21 Portman Square and the bar designed by female Iraqi designer Zaha Hadid.  

A key element of his new role will be to develop the Home House brand in other locations. 

The private members club and hotel which is owned by Lebanese investment company Fairford Holdings had previously been managed by Bespoke Hotels who took over the property in 2002. The group were then kept on in a consultancy role from December last year, but have now severed ties with the property.

Richardson said: "Our owners decided we didn't need a mangement company any more. They employed me as managing director because they feel strong enough to continue with the property on their own. The split from Bespoke is entirely amicable though."

A spokesman for Home House said: “Andrew’s extensive commercial experience within the hotel and leisure sector as well as his flair and vision will continue to benefit Home House members as he continues to ensure the club retains its reputation as London’s most glamorous members club.”
