Hotel Cateys 2009

Entries are now being sought for the 2009 Hotel Cateys, the hotel industry’s only truly independent benchmark of operational excellence.

The awards, which launched in 2007, recognise, reward and celebrate the unsung heroes who work tirelessly to support the UK’s hotel sector by delivering an exceptional guest experience day in, day out.

Do you have a housekeeping team that really delivers? Does your conference and banqueting team offer an outstanding level of service? Or does your front of house team consistently go the extra mile for their guests? If so, we want to hear about them.

This year’s awards feature: improved category criteria; an improved event website (all information is uploaded via the site) and 17 categories to enter or nominate – all for no cost.

The Hotelier of the Year will once again be incorporated into November’s Hotel Catey awards.

For more than 25 years, the UK’s most exceptional hotelkeepers have been unveiled and applauded at an exclusive luncheon in December. By presenting this prestigious award in front of an audience of young hotel professionals, we aim to provide aspiring hoteliers with exemplars whose successes they can mimic in their own careers.

Please visit www.hotelcateys.com or e-mail cathy.fuller@rbi.co.uk for full details on how to enter. Closing date for Hotel Cateys nominations is 19 June, while nominations will be accepted for Hotelier of the Year until 14 August.

Foraging – why all the attention?

Using foraged ingredients is nothing new but the trend has become more mainstream over the past two years. However, the wider use of foraged food in restaurants also carries a certain amount of danger.
