A new pop-up Indian restaurant is being launched at Meza, Wardour Street.
Atul Kochhar of Michelin-starred Indian restaurant, Benares in Mayfair, will be offering examples of his modern British Indian cuisine for four weeks from 4 – 28 May.
The menu will offer sharing platters and examples of Indian street food. Sample dishes include: Rajasthani crisp okra with harrisa mayonnaise, Goan goat koftas with lavender and peanut honey, Kashmiri style lamb Roganjosh and potato and ginger cakes and Punjabi chickpeas with tamarind.
Kochhar said: “Doing a pop-up restaurant at Meza is an exciting opportunity. I have always liked the buzz of Soho and hope we, as Benares Restaurant, will add to its amazing food culture.”
The restaurant will be open for dinner only, Monday to Saturday, and Benares restaurant will be operating as normal.
Kochhar has been instrumental in redefining the way people perceive and experience Indian food. In January 2001, at the age of 31, he became the first Indian chef to be awarded a Michelin star.
