Aramark wins £6m contract at Rosyth dockyard

Aramark has won a £6m bundled services contract with the Defence Division to Babcock Marine & Technology.

The five-year deal sees Aramark provide catering and guest services at the Rosyth dockyard, where Britain's new aircraft carriers are being built.

The caterer will provide a breakfast and lunch service for up to 3,000 employees as the workforce reaches its capacity in the coming months, as well as guests and visitors, including Government officials and royalty.

Aramark will invest in new equipment and vending services as part of the deal, including two new kiosks.

Stewart McCulloch, business development director for defence services at Aramark, said: "We are looking to provide a highly bespoke service to Babcock to meet the needs of the Rosyth site, which includes ensuring that workers have somewhere warm and comfortable where they can escape the elements and enjoy some tasty, hearty food.

"We are also very cognisant of the need to keep the catering offer under continual review as there may be a real need to ramp up our facilities in the latter stages of the aircraft carriers' building schedule, in line with deadlines and additional resources being deployed".

The existing workforce will transfer to Aramark under TUPE but the caterer is also looking to double the size of its on-site workforce in order to meet increasing demand.
