Radisson is the latest hotel group to be attacked by computer hackers

Federal authorities are investigating the hacking of computer systems which include guests’ names and credit card information, across various Radisson Hotels & Resorts in the United States and Canada.

The hotel group, whose major shareholder is US company Carlson, confirmed yesterday that its computer systems were accessed between November 2008 and May of this year.

Although Radisson described the number of locations involved as “limited”, it confirmed that guests’ names and credit card information could have been accessed.

Fredrik Korallus, Radisson’s executive vice president and chief operating officer, said: “Working with law enforcement and forensic investigators, we are conducting a thorough review of the potentially affected computer systems, and have implemented additional security measures designed to prevent a recurrence of such an attack and to protect guest privacy.

“We are also working closely with major credit card suppliers and law enforcement to ensure the incident is properly addressed.”

Radisson has created a free-phone number, 001 866 5849255, and website at http://www.Radisson.com/openletter to assist customers who may have been affected.

Radisson has more than 400 locations in 68 countries. Its parent, Carlson, has 1,030 locations in 72 countries.
