The owners of a new restaurant in the North East are looking to recruit 20 staff from across the region before its opening in the autumn.

Head chef, Ian Woodcock, and front of house manager, Jane Gallogly, both of whom used to work for Elior division Digby Trout, are to open 'Seasons' in Darlington in October.

The business partners already run a restaurant, also called Seasons, in Richmond.

Now they are on the hunt for a long list of staff, including an experienced general manager; the equivalent of 10 full-time front of house staff; a sous chef; a chef de partie; three commis chefs, and several kitchen assistants and cleaners.

The couple intend to serve food daily from 8.30am-9pm, with late night opening from Thursday to Sunday.

Seasons will open in the former town centre pub, The Old Dunn Cow on Post House Wynd. A £150,000 re-fit is already underway

Woodcock, 40, worked as a chef at Grosvenor House in London and has been in charge of catering at the Merchant Taylors' Hall, York, and Harewood House near Leeds before starting Seasons. Meanwhile, Gallogly, 39, was catering manager at the Sage, Newcastle, and has run restaurants at both Castle Howard estate and York's National Railway Museum.
