Paramount to expand Signature brand

Dawnay Shore Hotels (DSH) has revealed its plans to triple the number of its top-end Signature branded properties.

The company, which created Signature after the £41m purchase of the Furlong Group of hotels last year, has earmarked £3.5m for the planned expansion.

Announcing its results last week, the company - which also owns 20 Paramount hotels - said the Shrigley Hall hotel in the Peak District would become the fourth in the brand and that it was targeting nine in total.

Charles Prew, DSH chief executive, said £500,000 had been earmarked per potential Signature property to "carry out refurbishment and provide additional staff training".

Walton Hall hotel in Warwickshire and Redworth Hall hotel in County Durham are next in the frame for conversion to the "top-end four-star" offer.

DSH is also spending £4m updating the Paramount Lygon Arms hotel with Stephan Oberwegner of Max Bentheim handling design.
