Richard Corrigan is taking part in the Lights Out London campaign

Some of London’s best known chefs are backing a climate change campaign and are switching off their restaurant lights.

Chefs including Richard Corrigan, Brian Turner and Aldo Zilli are joining the Lights Out London campaign next week, during which the capital’s skyline will darken as all non-essential lights are turned off.

Landmarks included in the campaign, which is led by Capital Radio and runs next Thursday (21 June), include Canary Wharf, Buckingham Palace and City Hall.

The chefs are offering customers the chance to eat dinner by candle light as all restaurant lights will be switched off between 9pm and 10pm.

Turner said: “Dining by candlelight is a romantic way to raise awareness of the small things that can all do to make a difference.”
