The workshops, will which start in September and run until March, form part of tourism business support scheme Towards 2012.

They include resource efficiency workshops offering hands on advice on minimising waste and managing energy and water consumption; as well as crisis management workshops advising businesses on how to get positive media coverage and how to market their way out of a downturn.

Other workshops include topics such as accessibility, helping companies provide appropriate access older or disabled visitors; and quality workshops, teaching hoteliers how to make improvements in housekeeping and customer service.

Mary Reilly, chair of the LDA, said: “This is a fantastic package of free advice for London’s tourism businesses, helping them to raise their game and provide better quality of service to the city’s tourists.

“They workshops are a great way for businesses to learn from each other, as well as experts in the field, and I would encourage everyone interested to sign up.”
