Park goes to London and Edinburgh Inns
Agent Christie & Co has sold the 57-bedroom Park hotel in Montrose, Angus, to London and Edinburgh Inns, which recently acquired the Swallow Hotels portfolio from Whitbread. The hotel was sold off an asking price of £1.7m. It also features an 80-seat restaurant and a 200-seat function room.
Clark buys Drovers Inn in Angus
The Drovers Inn in Memus, Angus, has been sold to local businessman David Clark for more than £325,000. The inn has two bars, two restaurants and a two-bedroom owner's flat. Agent Robert Barry & Co sold the property.
French twist for Bradford Arms
The Bradford Arms in Llanymynech, Shropshire, has been sold for £400,000. The inn has five bedrooms and two restaurants with about 60 covers. New owners Stephen and Fiona Winter have hired a French chef to head the kitchen. Robert Barry & Co was the agent.
Newcomers buy Chiltern Guest House
Chiltern Guest House in Whitby, North Yorkshire, has been sold to hotel industry newcomers Owen Evans and his wife. The pair previously ran a pub in Stockton-on-Tees. The nine-bedroom hotel was sold off an asking price of £265,000. Christie & Co was the agent.
Hurstbourne gets a taste of tradition
The Hurstbourne pub in Hurstbourne Priors, Hampshire, has been sold for close to £325,000. Buyers Adrian Thorpe and Maureen Kavanagh intend to run the pub as a traditional country inn, offering food and a meeting place for local darts teams. Adrian, who previously ran the White Hart hotel in nearby Whitchurch for 23 years, plans to refurbish the pub in January and reopen a month later. The agent was Robert Barry & Co.
Grahams buy Lake District's Sticklebarn
The Sticklebarn in the Langdale Valley, Cumbria, has been sold to Terence and Lorna Graham off an asking price of £1.2m. The inn, in the middle of the Lake District, was sold by agent Robert Barry & Co.
