Perma Plus is a new shelving system from Shelfspan with a protective coating that kills off 98% of germs within 2-3 hours of them settling, and continues to do so for as long as 10 years. This makes it suitable for use in coldrooms and ambient food storage, where the open design also aids air circulation.
The shelves are made from mild steel with a zinc substrate that is coated with a hard-baked silver-grey polyester powder resin that resists rust, making them five times longer-lasting than nylon-coated versions. The resin also contains the anti-bacterial coating. The shelves come with a 15-year anti-corrosion guarantee.
Although costing up to 70% less than stainless-steel shelving, Perma Plus has a strength-to-weight ratio that makes it highly durable - shelf loading is typically 360kg on spans up to 1,220mm long and 300kg on longer stretches.
Available in 25 standard sizes, Perma Plus has a bolt-free design for easy assembly, is highly adjustable, and is sold in both static and wheeled versions.
