Shower curtains from Balineum

Balineum shower curtainsWith a name derived from the Latin for "bathhouse", Balineum fine linen and cotton shower curtains are the creations of Sarah Watson and designer Gail Bryson.

The curtains are made using traditional methods by weavers in Italy, Lithuania and Portugal and comprise four designs: Alison, a simple style with ribbon detail and a rich, textured, cotton-linen base; Catherine, a simple white weave with a ruffle and slight sheen; Gail, a contemporary design with clay-coloured contrast panel; and Virginia, the most formal and classic of the designs, with rich navy bands, made with Irish linen and sewn by a tailor in London.

The curtains are hung with a transparent liner so that they stay dry during showering, and can be machine-washed or sponged down. Liners are sold separately so they can be replaced at any time without having to renew the curtain.
