The Langham gets fired up after Apprentice appearance

The Langham London](http://london.langhamhotels.co.uk/) received 5,000 website hits last night after appearing in the final of BBC 1's The Apprentice.

Filmed in the Artesian cocktail bar, Lord Sugar was seen launching the final task of the series - the making of a new alcoholic drink - to the two finalists, Stella English and Chris Bates.

"Being involved in a prime TV programme like this gives the hotel fantastic exposure for minimal disruption - we would normally receive 1,500 website hits in a day," said Nick Barrington-Wells, public relations manager at the five-star, 380-bedroom property, which was recently named Large Hotel of the Year in the BT Visit London Awards.

The filming took place earlier this year, one morning between 6am and 12 noon, with little impact on the bar trade.

It is the second high-profile television programme to have been filmed at the Langham in 2010. The final of Masterchef: The Professionals was held in the hotel's Palm Court, resulting in 200 instant bookings for afternoon tea there.

"We are going out of our way to encouraging more TV filming to take place at the hotel as the benefits are huge, but we will only do it if it is something that will tie in with our brand," said Barrington-Wells.

"With The Apprentice it was the prominent featuring of our cocktail bar and with Masterchef it was the mention of the Palm Court as serving the best afternoon tea in London."
