Hilton puts six more hotels on the market

Hilton has put another six hotels up for sale after a review of trading one year on from its takeover of Stakis.

Three of the hotels are former Stakis properties: the 113-bedroom Hilton Bath Waterside; the 119-bedroom Hilton Newcastle and the 138-bedroom Hilton Stoke-on-Trent.

Also on the list are: the 144-bedroom Hilton Edinburgh Belford; the 114-bedroom Hilton Huddersfield and the 144-bedroom Hilton Leeds Garforth.

They will be offered for sale either individually or as a group.

"Each of the hotels are profitable businesses and have a loyal customer base," said Grant Hearn, Hilton's managing director for the UK and Ireland.

"However, the six hotels do not meet our criteria for investment and development in terms of our future strategy and business mix."

The hotels in Leeds and Bath are also close to other Hilton properties.

Staff at the hotels will have their terms and conditions of employment protected under transfer of undertakings regulations.

The sales will be handled by Hilton's property department.
