Coppel to head joint Irish tourism effort

Andrew Coppel, group chief executive of Queens Moat Houses, has been appointed chairman of Tourism Ireland, the body formed by Bord Fáilte and the Northern Ireland Tourist Board to promote Ireland overseas.

Other hospitality representatives on the board include Howard Hastings, managing director of the Hastings Hotel Group, and John Power, chief executive of the Irish Hotels Federation.

The body is due to begin work in the summer.
