Royal Shakespere Theatre restaurant gets a revamp

French contract caterer Eliance is revamping the restaurant and café bar at the Royal Shakespeare Company's riverside theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon for a relaunch on 30 November.

The refurbishment of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre restaurants is part of a five-year catering contract worth £1.6m in annual turnover that also includes the RSC's Swan theatre in the city. Eliance takes over on 22 October from local caterer Royal Shakespeare Restaurants, which had handled the contract for 20 years.

The first-floor restaurant will be renamed Quarto's and seat between 60 and 70 diners. The ground-floor café bar with self-service restaurant will be renamed 1564 and will seat 120.
