Schaller in as Balmoral boss

Rocco Forte Hotels has recruited Gerhard Schaller as general manager of its Balmoral hotel in Edinburgh.
Schaller said that he would take over the running of the hotel from David Pantin, who has become managing director for Russia as well as the UK.
Pantin adds the Astoria hotel in St Petersburg to his overall responsibilities for the Balmoral, the Lowry in Manchester and St David's Hotel and Spa in Cardiff.
Schaller has been a general manager for Nikko Hotels of Japan for the past 13 years. For the past two-and-a-half years, he has been at the Metropolitan Hotel Nikko in New Delhi. He has also worked in Mexico for seven years and at Nikko's Montcalm hotel in London.
