PizzaExpress buys up five restaurants

Restaurant chain PizzaExpress has bought five restaurants for almost £4m.

The group bought the 300-seat Kettners restaurant in London's Soho for £1.95m. It has supplied the venue since 1980, when it was bought by PizzaExpress founder Peter Boizot. PizzaExpress said that it would keep the Kettners name.

PizzaExpress also bought four Gourmet Pizza restaurants and one Riviera pizza and pasta restaurant for £2m. The restaurants, in Oxford and London, will be converted into PizzaExpress and Café Pasta restaurants.
